Lassco Brunswick House and cafe in Vauxhall is the kind of place you go when your shopping list includes hand-carved garden settings, British Museum library tables, vintage aluminium suitcases, American flags, kitsch movie posters, wig stands, cut-glass chandeliers, stuffed bobcats, church pulpits and stained glass, ex-National Opera costumes, African tribal masks, Bicorne hat boxes, ammonite fossils, harmoniums, model airplanes, Regency fireplaces, and Carrara marble toilets. It’s a set designer’s wet dream. They also do a good coffee and croissant.
This multi-level, mind-boggling, yet extremely laid-back space is a must-see, so do drop in next time you’re in the area.
